LOS ANGELES, CA — A hiker suffered a medical emergency and died Friday near a hiking trail in Griffith Park. The hiking trail at Vista Del Valley Drive remains closed amid the ongoing investigation, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Paramedics were called to the 2600 block of Commonwealth Avenue at 8:42 a.m, according to LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
“Firefighters located an approximately 50-year-old male patient who appears to have been riding a bicycle when he went into severe medical distress, said Stewart. “Firefighter/Paramedics provided intensive, advanced life-saving care coordinated with the base hospital. Sadly, he was beyond medical help and was pronounced dead on scene.”
