CONCORD, NH — As expected, due to blustery weather, trees, debris, and wires are being knocked down all around the state and city on Monday.

Around 1 p.m., Concord police, firefighters, and utility workers were sent to Hopkinton Road at Long Pond Road for a report of wires down on a vehicle. Dispatch told an officer heading to the area the vehicle was tangled up in the wire.
Before the officer arrived, they encountered a tree and wires blocking one side of the street on Long Pond Road. They placed down cones and continued toward Hopkinton Road.

“It’s kind of dangerous,” the officer said when asked if vehicles could get around it.
Other officers headed to the area and closed Long Pond Road at Little Pond Road and Hopkinton Road.

Concord General Services and Unitil were also called.
Both roads reopened around 2:30 p.m.
News 603 posted a video on Facebook of the live wire on a pickup truck and the cleanup effort.
About 8,000 people are without power across the state. About 200 customers are without power in Bow while one is out in Chichester.
