BEAUMONT, CA — The Beaumont Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving two robberies that occurred around 9 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, officers were first called to an attempted robbery at Highland Fuel. Two suspects tried unsuccessfully to grab the cash register from the gas station at 501 Highland Springs Avenue.
No vehicle was spotted. The suspects were last seen running onto the westbound Interstate 10 onramp but disappeared.

As Beaumont police patrolled the area, a second robbery at the Shell Gas Station, 97 Beaumont Avenue, was reported. It’s not clear what the suspects stole, but they managed to escape. The two were last seen running north toward Euclid Avenue.
No weapons were used in either incident, according to the police department.

A police perimeter was established. Backup from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and a helicopter crew from the Riverside Police Department assisted in the search. A K9 team also canvassed the area but the efforts were unsuccessful.
Police hope the public can provide leads. After investigating and reviewing video surveillance, Beaumont police said the suspects were the same in both robberies.
The alleged robbers were described by police as Black males. One was wearing a blue sweater, gray sweatpants, white gloves, and a mask, while the other was wearing a dark sweater, black sweatpants, and a mask.

The police department said in a released statement that “any details, no matter how insignificant, could be critical and aid in the identification and subsequent arrest.”
