AURORA, IL — An Aurora man was found dead Sunday in a retention pond, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
Joshua E. Wescott, 35, was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m. Sunday after his body was discovered in the 2400 block of Georgetown Circle in Aurora. Aurora police, who are handling the investigation, do not suspect foul play, spokesperson Jim Levicki told Patch.
Police were dispatched at about 2:06 p.m. Sunday for a report of a body found floating in a pond. Officers discovered a man face down in the water, about 20 feet from shore, Levicki said. Aurora Fire Department divers removed the man from the water and turned him over to the coroner.

An autopsy was completed Monday, but the coroner’s office said the final cause and manner of death following police, toxicology and autopsy reports. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call APD’s investigations division at 630-256-5500.
