LI Charity Holding School Supply Drive For Children With Cancer

“Children with cancer have severely compromised immune systems, and most are not able to attend school, so they are tutored at home or in-patient,” Matthew Weippert, co-founder of Sarah Grace Foundation, told Patch. “The family focus is on the treatment and health of their child so their time is focused there. Shopping for school supplies is not something that easily fits within the family’s schedule. Additionally, cancer treatments are expensive and with medicine copays and transportation expenses back and forth for treatment, the family is financially strained. Being able to procure school supplies for these families and provide them at no cost to the family is a critically important part of what The Sarah Grace mission is all about.”

YouGiveGoods will email shoppers a tax deductible receipt, and all donations will be shipped directly to the charity once the drive ends. The drive is set to end Aug. 3.

For those dropping off items in person, it is important that all items be new and unused.
