EAGLEVILLE, PA — Nurses at Eagleville Hospital agreed unanimously to a new contract with hospital management in what both sides are calling a rare and extremely productive negotiation process.
A total of 78 nurses and techs agreed to the three year deal, which provides a 5 to 15 percent pay raise, new and improved staffing guidelines, a special health and safety committee designed to review incidents, additional pay for weekend nurses, and more training opportunities for techs.
“We came together for an honest conversation on behalf of our patients,” said RN Kendra Barkasi, the president of Eagleville Hospital Nurses and Techs United and a nine year veteran of the hospital. “We met in the middle with our patients and patient care foremost in all of our minds.”

The nurses and Eagleville Hospital, a nonprofit addiction treatment center, agreed to terms a full two weeks before the old contract’s expiration.
“I can unequivocally say, the concerns of bedside nurses were heard and taken into account and reflected in this contract,” added Union leader and RN Rob Haines, who has been with the hospital for 30 years.
