DANBURY, CT — The Cue in New Milford may have closed, but business at its Danbury sire is booming.
Joseph Yorio had been smoking and serving American cuisine with The Cue at 2 Pembroke Road in Danbury since September 2016. Last October, he opened his second “upscale BB joint” at 59 Bank Street in New Milford.

“I’ve been in this business a long time,” Yorio told Patch, “and you kind of know right away.”
Despite citing “just not enough business to support the overhead,” at the New Milford location, Yorio is not pumping the brakes on the reset of the business.

The entrepreneur was involved with the catering profession for two decades before opening The Cue in Danbury. Just prior, he was the owner of Gourmet to Go, a caterer operating on 45 Padanaram Road.
It’s no shock, then, that the catering business at The Cue is huge, and growing. What is surprising may be the depth of the restaurant’s regular sit-down menu. Brisket mac-and-cheese and five styles of pork fight for menu ink with smoked lasagna, fettuccine, chicken-and-waffle, seafood and a separate menu of smokehouse steaks and burgers.
The experience of The Cue goes beyond the barbecue and table. Its pit is a custom-built 24-foot smoker that is on display off the main dining room. The wide open kitchen provides diners a panoramic view of the chefs as they ply their trade. The bar-restaurant also prides itself on pouring from the largest bourbon collection in Fairfield County.
The Cue is open 7 days a week.
