When it comes to fire safety, think of yourself as a superhero in disguise—ready to save the day! Remember, capes are optional, but a smoke alarm is non-negotiable. Keep flammable items like candles, papers, and, yes, your favorite pair of socks, far away from heat sources. Cooking? Don’t let your grilled cheese turn into a grilled mess—stay close to the kitchen! And let’s not forget the golden rule: if a fire starts, ‘Stop, Drop, and Roll’ isn’t just fun to say, it’s a lifesaver! Stay safe, and let’s leave the fires to the campfires.”

New Canaan Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Laura Budd

“My new year’s resolution for 2025 is to actively promote and showcase the value of shopping local in New Canaan. Through events, educational initiatives, and collaborations with our businesses, I aim to inspire our community to support the unique shops and services that make New Canaan so special. Together, we can help ensure a prosperous future for our town and its local economy.”

Fire Chief Albert Bassett

“Vision zero fires.”
