Real Betis have been given encouragement in their chase of Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout.
The 23-year-old is keen to leave Villa following their relegation and wanted to join Marseille on a loan deal, although this move appears to have collapsed.
Betis have been given encouragement in their pursuit of the player they have chased all summer as Marseille have reportedly grown tired of the time taken to conclude a deal, report Seville-based newspaper Estadio Deportivo.
This follows on from L’Equipe reporting that Marseille had pulled the plug on any deal for Veretout, who made 146 appearances for Nantes over five seasons.
