Salvatore Sirigu accepts Sevilla loan in principle…

According to Le Parisien and L’Équipe, Italian goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has accept a loan move to Spanish side Sevilla in principle. However, talks concerning the financials in this deal rumble on.

The loan deal would not include an option to buy and Sevilla are only willing to pay Sirigu €1.2m for the entire season. That is €2.2m less than what he is currently earning at PSG, so the Italian initially asked Les Parisiens to make up the difference and pay some of his salary.

Initially, Les Parisiens looked willing to do so, but then ultimately told Sirigu that they had no intention of paying any of his salary.

Despite this, Sevilla remain confident that they can push the deal through, but clearly there are still some negotiations to be had between all three parties until an agreement can be reached.

Sirigu’s clan know the seriousness of his situation. Another season without playing time and his career is in serious jeopardy.
