Manchester United striker Anthony Martial was disappointed that the club did not consult him when taking away his #9 shirt for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to RMC.
The Red Devils offered the Swedish international a carte blanche when it came to choosing which shirt he wanted and he decided that he wanted Martial’s.
The player’s camp are not unhappy with the idea of swap shirt numbers, but merely the fact that they were not informed or consulted that Martial would be losing his shirt.
Martial’s camp have been constructing a marketing campaign around “Martial 9” and this is likely to be the root of their disappointment.
The player’s future at the club is not going to affected by this saga however.
